Sometimes when I take a moment to reflect, a voice within asks: “Why do you hustle so hard in the first place?” This voice is quick to point out my unnecessary and unreasonable desires. In all honesty, it’s so much easier to sit back and not be ambitious. It doesn’t take any extra energy to relax and procrastinate. It takes no additional effort to lay idly with these dreams. Courage doesn’t have to be exercised when chillin’ with comfort.
I define hustle as consistent and continuous effort to do the things that make your dreams a reality. The amount of energy you need to apply towards your hustle is in direct proportion to the size of your dreams.
Knowing that hustling for our significant dreams will not be easy and will take significant amounts of energy, then why consciously choose to hustle at all?
For me, I’m hustling to achieve an abundance of fun, freedom, and fulfillment. The freedom to decide all the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How’s in my life. To wake up excited each day on my own terms and to generate income doing the things that I enjoy. I do it all for the present moment at hand and with future vision in mind. I hustle for love and all of the above.
This means I need to create and deliver significant amounts of value. It means networking, writing, vlogging, running, public speaking, recording, reading, running, lifting. It means challenging doubt with confidence. It means replacing instant gratitude with self-discipline. It means conquering bad habits and replacing them with good ones. It means challenging status quo. It means doing things I’ve never done before. It means letting go. It means building and making new connections. It means taking risks and learning from failure. It means being free to be who I want to be.
What are the reasons why YOU hustle?
